MANTA subsea cable selects MDC Data Centers for Mexico landing hubs

The MANTA subsea cable consortium has selected MDC Data Centers as its neutral landing partner in Mexico, marking further progress in the rollout of the regional connectivity project.

The consortium – comprising Liberty Networks, Gold Data and Sparkle – said MDC will design, build and operate cable landing hub facilities in Cancun and Veracruz.

The sites will combine traditional landing stations with carrier-neutral interconnection environments, allowing the subsea system to connect directly into terrestrial networks and key connectivity hubs across Mexico.

MANTA is designed to link Mexico and the US with Central and Latin America, providing additional capacity and lower latency routes between major data centres as demand for digital services grows.

The use of neutral landing hubs is intended to create open access points for carriers and cloud providers, supporting broader ecosystem development while strengthening both domestic and international connectivity.
